Leashes
Dogs walk faster than us and we normally use leashes that are too short. This causes leash tension and gives the impression that your dog is always pulling when that might not be the case. A longer leash will allow your dog to walk more naturally.
I like Biothane leashes (pictured) as they are durable and easy to clean.

Treat Bags
There are many on the market, and you want to look for one your hand can get in and out of easily.
Don’t worry about looking silly. Wear your treat pouch proudly!
My favorite is the Terry Ryan Treat Pouch. Easy to get your hand in and out, easy to open and close, easy to wash and air dry.

The purple version of the Terry Ryan/KPA bag is availble at Cleanrun. Click the image to order.
Doggone Good also makes a quality treat bag. These are deeper than the Terry Ryan bag.

Harness
Don’t believe the hype, harnesses do not cause pulling!
There are just as many harnesses as treat bags. My go to all-around general harness is the Balance Harness from Blue-9 Pet Products. It doesn’t choke or restrict your dog’s motion.
A small tube filled with whipped cream cheese, liverwurst, or peanut butter is an ideal on-the-go treat dispenser. Especially in the winter! I really like to use Gotoob brand.
There are multiple sizes available. I like the 3.4oz size. Smaller hands might find the 2.5oz easier to work with.
Baby Brezza reusable pouches are also a good option.

Training Treats
Good training treats are small, soft, and easy to handle. By small I mean small according to the size of your dog. I try to keep my treats bean sized, but I may cut them larger for bigger breeds or make them smaller for the littles.
My absolute favorites are Happy Howie’s Meat Rolls. Specifically the Beef flavor. It is less crumbly than the Turkey & Lamb flavors. Which are also tasty!
Using a vegetable chopper you can get HUNDREDS of small training treats from one roll in about 10 minutes

Slow Feeders & Food Dispensing Toys
Slow down meal time! We have multiple slow feeders that we rotate through to keep things interesting. Add water or broth then place in the freezer for an even longer lasting treat. Click on any image to purchase at Amazon.com.
