Home » Enrichment Visits & Dog Walking
Our dogs have needs that go beyond “walks”. They need physical exercise and mental stimulation. And, if your dog struggles with neighborhood walks, forcing them to take part in this activity that they don’t enjoy can lead to their behavior becoming worse and leave them in a heightened state of stress. Our dogs also need the opportunity to be and act like a dog which usually cannot be accomplished during a short, rushed walk.
During our 40 minute visit I’ll engage your dog in playtime, puzzle solving, and even some training. I’ll also use tools like herding balls and flirt poles that allow them to engage in behaviors specific to their breed and encourage behaviors like sniffing and foraging. Visits will also include a cool-down time so your dog isn’t left hyped up, instead ready to relax until you get home.
My enrichment visits offer a consistent experience. If you hire a company with multiple employees you don’t always know who is taking your dog out. What if it’s a new person that doesn’t know your dog? Some dogs actually struggle with these changes and it shows in their behavior.
I’m experienced in working with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Including those who are fearful, reactive, or have other behavioral challenges. I know how to create a safe and positive environment for them, and I’m patient and understanding.
